hey steve, i just ordered up a box of bolivar BF's as a xmas present to myself (i'm so good to myself, heh heh), based on your review amongst other things!! expecting good things......

the missus is away out tonight with her parents, i'm watching scooby doo with my wee man!!! once i get him to bed (8pm)gonna have a cigar, german beer (franziskaner) and a snifter (woodford reserve)!!! what to smoke, what to smoke? could this be the night for an h upmann royal robusto?

Similar situation for me tonight -

The missus is out so after putting my boy to bed decided to fire up a JL2 and open a nice rioja, in preperation for El Classico.

Unfortunately the cigar was a real let down and considering that this is normally a favourite of mine that is not a n easy thing to say! I couldn't get any flavour beyond the tobacco and the thing just did not want to burn. I am putting it down to a bad stick as normally I love these things.

Hearbroken I ditched it half way in and with time running short before the start of the game I fired up a Cohiba Secretos - now this was a different matter. Rich, deep and very complex for a small cigar.

In the end I was a happy man!

After a full Christmas dinner (bit early I know), decided to retire to my flatmates room (no-smoking) and fire up a couple of Trini Reyes and watch lord of the flies ('63 version) as Gemma needed to watch it for uni.

Great ending to a pleasant evening.

got cold feet about the h upmann royal robusto, just didn't seem right having one, so i opted instead for a rather spectacular jl2 as well (sorry to hear about your poor show)!!! i've 3 secretos left, wasn't gonna replace them.... think i will now!!!

Glad you had better luck than me.....

I thinks its the first 'bad' JL2 ive ever had so I aint worrying too much about it, had others from the same cab and they were marvellous.

Those Secretos are little powerhouses don't you think?
