Aye, it is actually an amputation saw, the idea being if someone was trapped couldn't get the out by lifting debris ect & the only option is to amputate that trapped limb. However I can't imagine any doctor telling me to go ahead with that plan. I would imagine they'd rather the casualty expired quietly, than stand up in court and to try justify telling a Medic, with no training in amputation, without being able to use anaesthetic, to hack that limb off!
