Just noticed, although missed the first half, a programme hosted ny Hemingways grandaughter about the restaurants and hidden haunts he used to visit. I'm not going to watch it, going to wait until its on again. Its on the Good Food channel,channel 249 for sky viewers

i saw that by chance one day a few weeks ago!!!! the girl's an embarressment, got on like a total a-hole (imo), everything she said had a pro-american slant on it!!!! however, it was fascinating to see cuba in a different light!!!! i wouldn't say i was a fan of hemmingway, but it definitely made me see him and his work in a different light!!!
also, it seems fidel castro 'seized' his house..........then turned it into a museum about him!!!! strange!!!!

They have been cleaning up the property and restoring the house over the past couple of years and now it's possible to actually enter the room where he kept his booze (but not yet the room where he actually wrote).
The POOL (where Ava Gardner swam naked, so the story goes) is A MESS and certainly would not hold water today.
BTW. The granddaughter is part of the family along with one of his sons who released a totally butchered version of "A Movable Feast" on the grounds the it "disrespected" his mother, who Hemingway was in the process of dumping for another at the end of the book.Commander Bob
