Watched the Kurt Russel/John Carpenter version of The Thing again last night, one of my favourite films.
Also watched The Immitation Game couple nights ago. I love the Alan Turin story and whatshisface played a good roll as him easy 7.5/10, would have been higher if the story hadn't been done numerous times already.

The original 'the thing' is a great film.
I also thought the imitation game was very good, im a real sucker for a true story. I can even watch badly made films that are true stories and enjoy them.

I watched Interstellar on the plane to Dubai a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. Never fancied watching a 3 hour film before but when you're stuck on a plane for 7 hours it doesn't matter as much.
Some really good parts as well as some moments which really make you think about life!

Enjoying my last day off before six days of work and continuing my war movie theme I just re-watched 'Lebanon: The soldier's story' about a lone Israeli tank and a squad of paratroops moving into Lebanon on the first day of the war in 1982. Not so much a war film as a film about war and the effect it has on a crew of young conscripts. On watching the film I thought they were all a little pathetic at times but read through the notes in the extra features and it becomes a lot clearer - 8/10
