  • A cohiban glasto

    just got back from glasto

    brilliant 5 days, highlights were:

blur, ray davies, fleet foxes, regina spektor, orkestra del sol, beardyman, crosby stills nash, springsteen

really great atmosphere again, good weather, arcadia and shangri la fields were brilliant

however very disappointed at the lack of cigar smokers. i guess at a festy like glasto where you can pretty much smoke anything you want , cigars sit on the shelf

did see one guy smoking a fauxhiba and i gave him a co robusto for a couple of beers.

also had my first siglo sixual experience! to blur on sunday
this has to be the best cigar i have ever had.

other highlights were a JL no2 to fleet foxes (really beginning to like these, such a strong taste of tea)
punch d'oro at the stone circle on a hazy trippy evening
and my first siglo 4 which was very much sex too.

tried a cohiba genios and was very disappointed, medicore flavour couldn't match the strong kick.

anyone caught much of the fest on TV?

TICKETS! I've got tickets! Who wants two?

Senor Lascaux, as you know, I'm a simple hombre from the mystical state of mind, mexico and it has been a long time since I've been to a concert. So forgive my ingnorance, but is "glasto" some sort of big rock concert! And if so, do they still smoke tons of pot there? When I used to go to concerts, that was the main event, the music was secondary, that is, until WOODSTOCK!!!

Hey Joe, I've been sort of dying to hear how you got on, I have been having a very bad case of Glasto envy having gone last year and knowing my best mate (and you) were there.

I have been hoovering up the BBC coverage til 2.00 most nights so I almost feel I went.

Loved Neil Young and really sorry I missed him, thought the Prodigy looked amazing also Fleet Foxes.

I have already put my marker down and registered for next year.

        Friday night herf in Avalon?

blur were my highlight of the weekend.
really energetic set, they gave it absolutely everything, all the hits and a couple of lesser knowns.

personal fave was the whole crowd singing the chorus to tender. loved out of time as well.

Ditto to all above, esp Mr Young.
Talking of Blur as well, does anyone remember that Fila borg top Damon wore a good few years ago, the dark blue and red jacket, well, I bought it a few weeks ago and it cost a bloody arm and leg !
Just to add, not the one he wore, just the same jacket.

Has anyone been the folk festival or the acoustic festival, my bro went acoustic fest year before last and watched Jah wobble, donavon, to name a few, he said its a really chilled atmosphere and the music was class A grade as you would expect from the old folkies.

I'm thinking of going next year, I think acoustic and folk may of come and gone this year, could be wrong though.

the acoustic festival is the one in wales right?

its had some very good names on this year
and my band should be on the bill in 2010 so of course it'll be a sublime fest.

check out latitude as well, fantastic festival very much influenced by glasto. literature poetry comedy cabaret tents and lots of bonkers art installations etc

Great to hear that you had a great time at Glasto Lascaux. Always great times at a festival

I think it was held around Lichfield or somewhere close to there when my bro went, not certain though.
I will have a butchers at that latitude now.
