Those of you who were here last winter may recall that MarkLondon and I used to smoke in my garage. There was just enough room for two folding chairs and a coffee table. It was cold and draughty and the roof leaked hence the bubble wrap ceiling. Here are some recent shots, it was a big tidier than this obviously.

All that junk needed keeping somewhere so the first job was to refurbish the shed at the bottom of the garden. I had sheets of OSB cut to fit exactly between each strut and in they went with a little manoeuvring of what was a wobbly shed. Pieces of timber were then cut a fraction too long and nailed in to secure the timber so now the shed is twice the weight and completely restressed, it does not move at all. OSB went down on the floor too.

Next up the outside wall of the garage was lined with 25mm insulation and boarded up

The garage doors are the classic gate design and haven't been painted for 22 years! I painted them, filled in the spaces with insulation and boarded them with MDF. I have since painted that white and intend to 'double glaze' the windows with Stormguard film. That gap you can see light coming through has been dealt with too.

A plasterboard ceiling was installed and the whole lot painted and papered.
Since this last photo I have added a laminate floor and skirting. There is an inch thick rug to go on the floor and some tidying unto do but the space is about 2.7 x 1.7m

I'll post another photo when its all finished. Winter guests will be very welcome.
