Will be driving from Calgary to Vancouver early next month so any good places to drop into... I know the case Havana in VCR from previous trips but are there any good other places.. Are prices good? Really can't remember not been in 10 years. Used to go every year..

Unfortunately, the prices are absolutely horrendous. Calgary has no places to smoke. Can't smoke on patios, 10m from every door, 20m from playgrounds, etc etc etc.

Vancouver has a pub or two. Calling out [MENTION=13413730]Chanceschmerr[/MENTION] to help point out locations.

I remember being shooed away when smoking in a Calgary cafe (outside) and had to re locate to a bench right next door. My smoke then drifted across the cafe... Made me giggle. Stupid laws everywhere! I'd forgotten all about it... I don't hold out much hope for hidden gems but thought I'd ask.. Used to be lots of Cigar places in VCR...

That's actually quite true. It's what I ended up doing - just move so that the wind goes over and drifts to the cafe. Gotta show people that these damn bans are entirely useless. Speaking of which, I love seeing the barbeque smoke that people can stand when they're on a patio but one lowly tobacco product makes people wrench for some reason.

Anyways! How long are you staying? I could pester a few of my mates down that way...

I spend a week in Calgary every year and, contrary to what is being said here, there is actually a smoking lounge where you can buy cigars and possibly temporary membership to smoke in a really nice indoor lounge. Cannot for the life of me remember the name, but I must have searched online and found it. Prices are exorbitant. Possibly more expensive than the UK?

There are are some very nice cigar shops in Vancouver, again just do a little research. Again, prices are very steep.

Much as as I hate to promote other websites, have a look at the Cigar Afficianado website. They have forums there and you may get some better answers there.
