Got a cigar off my boss. Says he found the box in the back of the wardrobe reckons he bought them about 10 years ago in Paris but they obviously haven't been properly stored. Stuck it in a bag with the Hydrometer and got a not too bad reading off of 54%. Trying something a little different with the recovery option. Will post with progress.

I don't think cigars give off much moisture, they're hydroscopic, they absorb it. The reading you're getting is from the air in the bag .... my advice, forget what you're doing, pop it in your regular humidor for a week or two and smoke it.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

How would too dry cigar look like?Three Laws are:
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Its fecking solid thou!
I put another cigar I had that was damaged in the bag with it. Went upto 58 then back down to 56 which was pretty much what I expected it to do. Plan to swap that out for a different cigar tonight and repeat till getting close to 70

Good opportunity to see if old, dried out puros of that age can be restored or if the lack of natural oils from evaporation makes them unsalvageable.

No doubt the Monty 2 is hard to the touch. If true, I'd leave it in the humi at least until it regains a slight sponginess. If you check the google, you should find tons of info on restoring dried sticks - some of which suggest a multi-step process.
