  • Cracked wrapper - what difference does it make?

Just found that an ERDM Choix Supreme in my humi has a cracked wrapper-
I'm guessing it's a bad thing, but I'm not sure why.... Will it make any difference?

It could stop a proper draw, but there's only one way to find out... How bad is the crack? Is the stick dry?

You can get repair glue btw.

It's quite a log thin crack.... Stick doesn't feel overly dry - it's sat in with a 72 boveda...

Carefully slide the band down to cover it till the burn reaches that point then slide it back, should do the trick.

Excellent! Many thanks - am thinking I might have it on Thursday to celebrate my return to puff!

Could definitely run you into some problems, I've had this before and it made the cigar way more smokey but little of the smoke was being drawn into the mouth!

It can effect draw, burn and smoke production but that doesnt look bad. You can use a pectin solution to repair worse off cigars or buy the little bottle of torcodor glue (is premade pectin with a nail varnish brush)

Hi there, it shouldn't effect it too much, you may find the draw slightly off and when it burns down to that point the wrapper may start to flake but all in all it will still taste the same.

I have smoked some cigars that have look far worse! Some that have been accidentally knocked off the humidor shelf and look completely un-smokable BUT with a bit of care and some careful holding in the right position, they soon start burning fine. We also had someone post a picture to our Facebook page of a cigar that he had completely removed the wrapper from as it had cracked and flaked so badly. He said it smoked just fine.

So just be give it a go, just be a bit gentle and careful
