cigar quality

Hello all. First off nice forum. Appears to be lots of expertise and knowledge here. Decided to take up cigars in Jan this year. Started off with Guantanamerra minuto and cristales and tried a few tubed cubans such as: Punch. RyJ. Bolivar 1,2. Montecristo. Also RyJ wide churchills and Cohiba siglo II. Only non cuban I had was a dunhill altamira which i found to be nice but mild. So far my favourite is the bolivar no 3.

Recently i thought i would give the non cubans a try and had a La Aurora preferido red and a Macanudo 1968 Rothschild. When i finish smoking i sometimes break open the remaining cigar out of curiosity. I found quite hard stalks in the macanudo. I also found the taste to be quite unpleasant (first cigar i have found to be quite horrible). May just be my tastes but i was wondering if the stalks were a contributing factor.

Sorry for the long introduction but if anyone has any thoughts then please educate me on quality and grades of tobacco.

Welcome to the forum. It (obviously!) stands to reason that leaves will be less harsh than stalks. I've not cut open many cigars though.

There's a lot of Bolivar fans here, my favourite brand at the mo is Ramon allones.

Welcome to the forum CiGar. Your in for a cracking journey trying different cigars. All I would say is make sure you look after them properly with a humidor. You can pick them up very cheap on auction sites and its worth protecting your investments.

Im on the journey where you spend spend spend because you want to improve your collection. I have been collecting cigars since Dec 2012 so I have a way to go before I catch up with the seasoned pros! Haha!

- Rosejacob6 I have to say that if your into cigars it's not just for a hit of nicotine, its about enjoyment, taste, smell, to unwind, to celebrate etc. Cigarettes don't do anything for me so the thought of an iFag is not on my radar - no offence!

Now a days, people getting more addicted towards tobacco(via cigarettes or cigar). I would like to know why people trying such a dangerous stuffs, cigar or cigarettes is not good for health. I have a best alternative for whom who wants to quit this deadly addiction.You all heard about it i.e Electronic cigarettes, recently electronic cigarettes becoming more popular amongst the people. This is only way for get away from this deadly habit.I Would suggest to all smoker try e cig once, It will definitely helps you.

Do some research, cigars aren't that dangerous.

And e gigs to me are second best to injecting nicotine. Its just the drug delivery and nothing else.

What a stupid thing to put on A cigar forum. It's not the only way to quit and I prefer cigars with very little nicotine. I don't smoke them for nicotine at all.

What she was spamming was not actually relevant to the decision. She joined up to spam html links. It could have been any product. She was spamming with dodgy html links from India and her IP address is listed as "dangerous". I suspect we did not loose a potentially valuable member of the community this time
