Just to clear the air

I'm guessing all members here got a PM regarding from Deano regarding the fact that someone keeps inviting members over to "the other Forum". I'd just like to admit it was me this time and i have only invited 1 member to the other forum for the record. I've been PMing the new member Sludgie and posting in the forum because he is in the Royal Navy, works just down the road from me, has a love of cigars and pipes and we just clicked. We have exchanged mobile numbers and emails and i'm looking forward to meeting him at our first herf (details to be confirmed). As i result i told him about the other forum and even vouched for him to join. I have also told him about other cigar forums, cigar sites and places which can and can not be discussed on here about buying cigars.

Now i've tried to stay out of the whole this and that other forum debate, to be honest i think it it has done more harm than good. I am an active member on many cigar forums and hopefully i've learned a little bit and contributed more than my fair share. I have also invited several members to this forum and will continue to do so so that individual members can decide where they want to spend their time.

Now I simply want to get it out in the open and ask one question, well several along the same theme.

Can you participate on both forums?
Can a member of this forum tell people about other forums and cigar resources online or just the ones that are approved or not approved by this forum (if so could all members have a list)?

Not wanting to cause trouble just a little put out that telling someone about something that they can find out via google puts me in the wrong.

i didnt get a PM, but TBH althought ive checked in from time to time havent been on the board much at all. I dont really know enough of the people on this forum to extend any invitiations.

Also dean has made it clear inviting memebers is taboo. i think its silly but we should abide by his rules.

True enough, i did use the chat thing at the bottom to tell him about it however i was planning to tell him about it and much more when we met up at the herf along with other cigar sites, forums etc. For the method i used i apologise but i just don't like the thought of being banned from inviting members to another site hence the first post to clear things up.

I think considering the work put in to build this forum up etc, that it shouldn't be used as a device for another person/forum's gain. Poaching is pretty lame. And I'm quite personally saddened by the actions of these few people.

Deano, i'm sorry if you think i'm poaching people form here. I've done it once with a new member so he can be exposed to more useful information about cigars and i must say i've invited a handful of people to this forum so you must be 4 members up from me alone. No one is doubting you have put a lot of work in to building this forum up but when you basically accuse members which have contributed (i like to think i have) and helped in some small way to improving this forum i too feel saddened. I don't want you to be sad and i don't want to be censored so i'll stay away from this forum.

Google all you want, but seeing how it's an invite only forum and it's only going around other forums to invite it's members it is not exactly a forum with morals is it????
Our members find this forum and decide to contribute, the other just Picks it's members from other forums...

I am a member of ukcf, puff, botl & friends of habanos. ( and don't ban me for this - BMW land)

Some I frequent more than others but they are all worthy sources of information, some discussions are acceptable and some aren't depending on where the board is. If non uk sources is not ok here then fine there are plenty of other places where that topic can be discussed. There is Still plenty of other info to digest and herfs to attend on this forum. One missing topic of information doesn't kill a forum but the silliness can.
