Thanks for the birthday wishes guys. I smoked one of the RyJs from the tin I bought. Nice smokes. My humi has been much run down of late after two years of redundancy! I have not been idle of course and have held down three jobs for the last 18 months - now I have accepted partial retirement I seem busier than ever. Not quite the same as full time airline pilot but in many ways rather nicer...no nights, no career prospects to keep me slaving away, and nothing I dont want to do. All in all, a nice way to be. Some weeks I'm flush, some weeks I feel nervous...but Im not complaining.

This is how life should be. I'm 53 now and I'm thinking of winding down my work life...go part-time and be a locum on the days I want. Pick and choose.
