New banner ideas

I think the key is UK CIGARS Forums.

I believe the banner should be totally generic and not favour any country (other than the UK) or brand.

I do like the cedar wood grain. But, if anyone cares to look at their boxes it should run horizontally not vertically.

I think you are correct with your statement on generic. To even pirate a small section of a logo is just asking for a problem. As the word C_stom_ is frowned upon then I think (only my thought) we should steer clear of any legal problems !

Back from holidays - lets try again?

With a humi full o Romeos (Thanks V much Father in law, what a nice man) and a vague tan from sailing in generally poo weather around the Devon coast, I am somewhat refreshed.

For my 2 pennies, i think the font is a little busy, something with plain texture would come across clearer. Maybe the UK CIGAR FORUMS in the HENCHO EN CUBA font might look nice?

Again, I think Monkey is right. Too busy anbd too much.

Whilst I don't like the Union Jack much as a flag I like the band idea. Safer than a copyrighted one.

Obviously Deano has the final word but I think we're pretty much there.

I like that idea also. As it is, the infil of the letters is too busy. Or, as monkey put it:

a texture too far.

The only other thing I would ask is whether the lettering was intended to overlap the seal? It looks a little, odd.

Otherwise, very nice - I like the new UKCF cigar band! I believe the asylum was opened in 2008, though someone who was here from the very beginning will doubtless provide gospel on that.

It's amazing what someone who knows what they are doing can manage on a computer...

PS. How was the sailing - I'm sailing around the area from next weekend (from Weymouth to Falmouth via Alderney and Guernsey - probably missing Devonish waters though... ). Back in Plymouth this week though for the fireworks. Lovely.

simonjgriffithshr, Sailing was good, bar one afternoon during which we sailed into mist/fog/soup with a scant 2 knots of wind and were drenched despite no falling rain.

Got our daughter (9) to take us back into harbour for her first time! No scrapes no collisions. This and the fact that she likes Top Gear and Doctor Who will ensure we don't put her up for adoption (This year).

Yes the tubby fella with the Che cap is me, smoked 2 La Invictas coronas that day, ideal sailing smoke, cheap enough to get damp in bad weather, not at all bad daytime smokes either.
Very tempted to order a pack from cgars when my current stash of mix and match non Cubans run low.

Sounds like a good trip - were you followed into the fog by a mischieveous boatful of hooligans who used the cover to enact a 'bucket soaking' of an unsuspecting crew? Your daughter looks rather too Hornblower in those photos for a young girl - try and avoid buying her a pea-coat otherwise it might get too Napoleonic...

Guarantee seal slightly enlarged/repositioned
Length of gold band increased to flow over banner edges/repositioned
Date of 'Est' changed to 2008
Embossing effect changed on UK Cigar Forums/Hecho En Cuba emboss

How about updating the background with a similar cedar wood effect?
