Got into work today to find the server down again. Twice since migration. Looking into it.

The site was more than 18 hours down Deano...
That means 75% uptime per month just for this time. If you add the previous time you are already less than 70% and that's only the first week!

BTW any serious company would pay you back ALL the money for uptime less than 90%. Ask for your money back... that would teach them a lesson. If you don't have a dedicated server though, I guess you are not entitled to a refund and they'll make really imaginary stories to avoid it. We do host on a dedicated, don't we?

It was just my kind way to offer to the community.
My offer to host the forum for FREE was rejected three times.
I don't need any customers... trust me on that...
The lightest forum I host on my servers has 9000 members and more than 20.000 unique visitors per day (or more than 100.000 visits per day)...
So... if I can host that, I can host a small forum with ease.
That's what I thought but that's already an old story!
Don't mind my offerings any more.
And by the way my PhD is on Information Systems.

It's not for me to say who could, or couldn't, host saggs. Merely making a personal enquiry, from personal observations.

I've never actually said no, however, hosting with someone I don't know, privately, probably isn't the way I want to go.

The downtime is being investigated but SLA's are usually over a year, and our downtime won't break the 99.9% agreement. However, this is a VPS server and I'm expected to monitor it myself. Monitoring has been setup to email me now.

It's a fresh setup and all in the infancy stage at the mo, I'd expect problems - trouble was, last night I was away from home and not able to react.

Also we have quite a bit more load than our membership indicates, due to a lot of guests etc.

Anyway, at the end of the day it's tough titties, it's being sorted.

Forum down time is sad to hear. But were all here to enjoy the forum. How would we know the good times if we never experience the bad?
