Smokers forum hacked!

I'm also a member of smokers forums, manily a pipe forum. Thier site was down for ages and it turns out their forum was hacked so badly that they have lost all their data and have had to start a fesh. I just wanted people to be aware of this especially Deano and the admin team. I think they were running a very old version forum but it helps to be on your guard.

Thanks for the tip, I'm sure chief Geek Deano will be on top of it but it's good to know.
Sad these people don't have better thinks to do (the Hackers not Deano!)

Yeah cheers - we were hacked briefly due to a plug-in that wasn't kept up to date (thousands of forums fell to it). Fortunately I had a backup.

Need to schedule them a bit more often though. They just do it for 'fun', which ruins everyone else's enjoyment of a good forum. Pointless.

Can't backup often enough.

I work for an IT security company (we down aged security services and consulting as well, for the techies here), so hear rather a few tales of breaches...

Also why I don't put my address, phone number etc on websites like Facebook.
