Although I do a little modulating here and there from time to time , I also have my own thoughts and ideas about the forum, and since this thread is a solicitation of ideas, I was merely sharing mine - not necessarily senor serious' or any of the other mods on this here fine forum, for that matter. (Although I can't imagine how anyone could disagree with me )

I've been sitting watching this thread and it's probably time to chime in.

I see this as fairly simple (but I'm probably wrong). The changes to the forum where to stop discussion of non UK sources which Deano was advised would get him in Legal problems with HMRC (I was in the meeting!)

Some people didn't get that message and took umbridge at being told, set up in an overseas territory and where they talk about subjecs which can't (legally) be talked about here.

I'm happy to play nice with anyone, lots of my really great friends I have met through this forum.

However, as a mod I will continue to work with Deano to keep this place legal.

It's a shame that the guys from over there appear to see this forum and it's rules as some form of threat and appear to be periodically attacking us by inviting our members over there.

I'm not sure I see how inviting members to another forum constitutes an 'attack'..?

The 'other place' is a different animal altogether.. It exists (in part) as a place to discuss information and subjects which aren't (for reasons I understand) allowed here.
It's worth noting that many are active members posting on multiple forums.

Without wishing to stir up another hornets nest, could I offer the suggestion that.. if these members had felt a bit more.. appreciated or 'at home' here, they would've continued to visit and carried on posting too?

That doesn't wash. They just would not work within the new rules and have consistently tried to cause trouble by questioning the rules which were set up to alow this forum to stay within UK law.

Pooh, a question we ask over and over again, yet are prompted by returnees trolling and attacking us whenever threads of discussion regarding the other forum or problems arise occur on this forum.

E.g. The previous pm problem thread and three old regulars coming back and mentioning 'tampons' et al.

E.g. The chap above who hasn't posted in 11.5 months saying 'come home' lol.

The majority of arguments that are presented to us are hypocritical and/or only serve to enforce your own arguments. An example being the quote above, where we refrain from spamming or trolling 'the peoples' forum, but you continue to do the same to this one.

It's becoming clear from yourself and puff that even you two, who have never been banned, aren't even willing to discuss these issues with an open conciliatory mind, so god knows what the others would do. Unfortunately you, puff and 'rich' are encouraging me to leave things as they are and simply let this forum die to the benefit of no one but a closed group who think they're in some exclusive club!

Sorry Jacob, I appreciate your views which tend to be moderate and fair, but I don't see what he's said that's not actually correct.

Ultimately it seems whatever we do or attempt to do it isn't fair, correct, or decent enough, and this forum should be the basis for attacks, trolling, spamming, recruitment for closed forums, and constant bickering.

Deano, I don't have any personal beef with anyone here. I used to love this place and it has been a great introduction to cigars for me. I met some great people herfing etc. BUT the hostile replies that assume everyone who questions the rules is trolling doesn't give this place the feel it used to be. The mods really need to think about how they address the comments about foreign shops, perhaps a link to the rules is better than the below quote

I'm pretty sure that will be said to someone who fully well knows the rules and is trolling, or someone we're damn sure is a troll.

That's the only time I see it. Otherwise there's a quick edit, and a quote/link to the rules.

It's easy to reference these things, but they usually have some much deeper context.



However, I said I'd clean up the rules and make them much clearer/sum them up in one post.
