Glad to hear it mate, my main beef with this forum is how some people shoot down newbies for their taste in NC's. Personally some people forget where they started. I have a lot of love for NC's that isn't always shared here!

Really? Can you point me in the direction of some of those nasty threads and/or posts? I know I don't read everything posted on this here fine forum, but I haven't noticed anyone being abused for enjoying a fine NC stick.

Now, as far as abusing knewbees goes....W-e-e-e-e-ll, I know from time to time in the past one or two of the Coro Clan - usually Ray Jay or Bag Boy - have subject a few of these so-called "Knewbees"to a bit of "leathering up," but this was done regardless of what they smoked, drank. spit or chewed.

Do you think that is a real observation or just a hackneyed comment. Not trying to start anything but there is much NC discussion here. Monkey I have seen it and this forum has been full of CC snobbery in the past. I'm not saying it is happening now but those are my feelings and Deano aksed for forum improvements. I was just making my opinion known. I have no beef with anyone personally and still enjoy being a member here.

Oh It happens. Now I'm sure as monkey says a lot of it is light hearted banter, but feel lit dosesnt always come across that way due to being forum based and not face to face.

I don't think that members here set out to deliberately belittle people who like NCs, but sometimes it can come across that way. The negative comments about NCs usually turn up when there is a thread in which they are directly compared to CCs. This can give the impression of an anti-NC bias or CC-only snobbery.

Here are some examples of direct quotes from a previous thread that give this impression. I have omitted names because my intention isn't to name and shame. I just want to show how people just giving their honest opinions or having a bit of banter can sometimes give the impression of an anti-NC bias on this forum which might put members off from sharing their love of NCs.

“I've never had an NC that has made me go 'wow'....I find them too light, airy, dry and only ever taste of pepper. No real oomph to them....”

“NCs smell like cow shit to me all the time.”

“NCs to me are worse than new world wine. Sometimes I enjoy new world wine but yet to enjoy a NC.”

“Me...? I 'love' NC's...
The fact that there are people who are prepared to smoke 'em... well... it means more Cubans for the rest of us, and helps keep the price of 'Habanos' from sky-rocketing.”

Well, then point out a recent post or thread where it has happened, muchacho. I truly don't recall any such abuse in the past few years. I have seen this sort of bad behavior on other UKCFwannbees, but not around here, lately.

Hell...I've seen similar (and worse) comments about what others consider to be fine puros.

Yeah, I hear you muchacho and you make a fair point. But as me pappy, Pappy Corro used to say, "If you're man enough to smoke a fine puro or cigar, than you oughta' be man enough to stand up for yourself."

Of course, he said it in espanol, so it might loose a little something in translation.
