Macs nd the OS they run on..?

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone here owns a Mac and would vouch for it? Tryed to get the OS working on my PC but I had an error and reverted to XP again. Hoping to duel boot in the near future and get OS X working but the amount of time it took to get kind of put me off!

Own a macbook and a higher end macbook pro. Takes seconds to turn on compared to the multitude of PCs I've owned taking well over 2mins. Better style, simpler and better looking OS, more powerful for your moneys worth, more powerful full stop with profoundly higher RAM, better programs, better internet program, better support, sets the bar for touch pad technology, oh and have I mentioned how gorgeous they are?

I think we've had this discussion, but I have a mac and a pc, and Windows 7 is just as good and just as fast on the boot.

Sorry gave it to the other half. Unless you have spent a lot on a top of the range PC the mac will always be faster. I too own both, and sadly I use PCs at work, and they are slow. You can purchase the new macbook for just under a grand. Well worth it!

personally use an imac 24 and a vaio FW series for CAD CAM and a lot of rendering/ design work.
LOVE my mac...if i could just use the mac it would be so but some programs need windows to work efficiently..so i run both

btw dont try to run osx on a pc..its like lighting a cohiba with an oil fire.

Yeah, I think you can only run windows on a mac--not vice versa.

+1 for macs. Very simple an intuitive, got 2 mac mini's set up to wide screen tvs and a macbook. Had no problems setting any of them up, syncing wirelessly is childplays. I cringe every time i have to use a PC at work.

Just bough a macbook pro. Imo over priced but I love OSX.

People stating that macs are faster is untrue, they use exactly the same hardware as PCs these days, and there's no difference in terms of specs.

I haven't had a PC for ten years... ALways had a mac laptop and a Tower. At the moment I've got the bottom of the range macbook and a dual quadcore powermac in the studio. Love them. They are expensive, but so are Aston Martin's.

However if you're the sort of fella who likes to get his hands on the OS and really customise programmimng then I imagine Linux is the way forward... I'm afraid I don't know enough about the alternative to Mac.

Which is all a load of nonsense anyway, because whatever your on it can only go as fast as you!
