  • Record Internet radio stream?

Does anyone know of some software I can use to record a nightly show off Talk Sport in mp3 or whatever so I can listen back on the ipod or whatever?

There are some digital radios out there that will record to mp3. Do they have a listen again feature?

no if it did I think that would be more straight forward as I could rip the stream or whatever... Im looking for software to record rather than buying more radios tbh

I do this all the time. Use audacity, just change your default recording source from what is typically set to Microphone to Stereo Mix.

interesting, are you able to program Audacity to record for a certain length of time?

Cant you download the show as a podcast? i listen to Lincs FM online and there is a podcast facility which you subscribe to and download

Listen live to your favourite music and presenters at Hits Radio (Lincolnshire). Keep up with the latest news and shows, enter competitions, and check out our playlists.

I think anyway! worth a look, if lincs FM has it maybe the station you want has it too

I would recommend Audacity but this issue would surely lie in scheduling a task that would start both the internet radio service and Audacity, record the audio stream then export as an mp3. I've never done it before but I'm sure it'd be possible if some time was spent looking at it properly.

                StreamRipper

[EDIT] If it's on Windows, isn't there some built-in task scheduler you can use to run it?

I used a program called replay radio once, but it was a few years ago.

will check out them both thanks Deadbase and Dave, Eggy yeah I'm aware of podcasts, they would be ideal but it would seem TalkSport only does select shows as podcasts and the one I'm after isnt one of them!

just wanted to say thanks again to Boss, I went with Replay Radio (now Replay AV) and it worked a treat, even lets me plan recordings in advance which is ideal!

                        cheers

There is a toolbar application called Freecorder that will record any incomming audio streams in a high quality mp3 format. Not sure if you can schedule it though.

it seems that everyone like recording radio online. I just think whether this is stealing. I find many users record live streaming radio from the internet with streamripper and some audio recorder. The only problem is the stations have become smart and have made some of the files and songs overlap. i am doubting that is this feasible.
