  • Favourite iPhone apps

I'm guessing there are a few members who are iPhone owners/users. They're the Marmite phone and I'm in the 'love it' camp. I've owned smartphones, PPC's, PDA's and BlackBerrys but the iPhone is the best yet. When TomTom is released next month it will get even better.

What apps are you using/rating? For me its...

Games - Crazy Choppers, Ragdoll Blaster, Paper Toss and Flight Control
Utilities - Timetable (for work), Accuweather (for fishing weather), Google Earth
Random- Sky Sports Score Centre, BBC and Sky News Readers

I'm looking for a good MS Word/Excel app (for viewing files only), anyone use one?

    Love mine too.

Fav app? You know I hardly use any at the mo, the built in google maps has got to be a god send. Love Flight Control though, and the Sky+ app is bloody useful too.

Thats better than me. 59 on the standard airfield and 46 on the aircraft carrier. There are similar games with traffic and shipping.

So many apps so little time.

I've just got Co-Pilot satnav for the iPhone, its really good and only ?25, i used to have TomTom on a PPC, and imo it's easily as good, if not better. Its a one off payment too, with a big update coming as well

The car kit will have a better GPS chip in it to boost performance, ?120 approx. TomTom app is quite pricey and a big download.

I've only had it a couple of days, but it seems fine, mind you i haven't been far. I'm off on a long run in a week or two, so i'll see how it performs and report back. My car has a heat reflective windscreen too, and these are hard work for GPS, so it will be a good test of its abilities

Normally I'm a bit weary of free sat nav software but I've been using Navfree for the last few days and I'm very impressed for free software. It is just under 300mb downloaded, has 3d and 2d views, you can search for locations via google and most importantly has a voice to speak out the directions. It recalculates on the fly although it does seem a little slow in realising you have taken a diversion but then again I'm not sure how normal gps twigs you have diverted either.

                              http://ax.itunes.apple.com/gb/app/na...4793?mt=8#ls=1

I normally use the normal map function on the iPhone but for car travel I'm defiantly converted to Navfree.
