Windows 10 - any good?

I?m in the middle of a PC upgrade and just learned there is still time to upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 for free.

So, for those using Windows 10...how do you like it? Better than 7 pro?

I know very little about computers or programes but I brought a new Laptop a couple of yds anlgo & had to accept W10. Had serious problems ever since. Do some Goggling on reviews & I think you'll find a large % of neg reviews.

I would have to disagree Windows 10 is a good op and a much better op for new hardware. Online reviews can be misleading, take into account the number of windows PCs out there and the negative reviews would make a small %.

I can also back up Windows 10, there were a few transitory issues, or new habits to learn anyway, but i think it is a pretty slick, and reliable piece of software.

I play quite a few PC games on my rig, and i would handles what I throw at it rather well, and i believe DirectX 12 (and updates) are only available on the 10.

Windows 10 is what made me go for a Mac.
Upgrading from 7 to 10 slaughtered my laptop.
I then tried it on new laptops and tablets.
And still bought a Mac.
I wish I had stuck with 7.

I think it's very good. Windows 8 was terrible but 10 is far better. Few differences to get used to but the operating system is the best Microsoft have put out.

Windows 7 is already out of regular support and out of extended support in 2020. It's too old. Does it still receive security patches? Worth moving to 10 just to keep receiving security patches...

Win 7 still receives security updates until 2020. It may be older, but it works better for me so there is no reason to switch yet.

I think I will, amigo. Lately, I’ve been reading about issues trying to reload windows 7 with newer products, like the latest crop of CPUs and mobos. Yes....I think I will get it while the gettin’ good.

Thanks for the advice/support...and Happy Holidays to all (I’d say “merry christmas,” but we’re still fighting the faux war on christmas down mexico way)
