  • Hello from Sunny Florida

    Hello all,

I recently discovered your forum through interactions with UK cigar smokers on Twitter. I've been smoking cigars since 2005, when I met a guy who lived nearby who was very experienced and knowledgeable about Cuban cigars (Tampa1257, for those who may have known him on other forums). I've become a real Cuban cigar enthusiast since that time, and have a couple of well stocked Haier fridges at this point. I live in Clearwater, Florida and am a college professor. Weather is great for cigars, and there are lots of cigar friendly places nearby.

I smoke a quite varied lineup of cigars, 99% Cubans. Bolivar, Monte, La Gloria Cubana, Diplomaticos, and Ramon Allones are my usual marcas.

Some of you may have run across me in other forums. I've been active on FOH for some time.

I've been to the UK once (in 2001) and expect to be back. Great to be a part of this forum and to learn from my cigar brothers across the pond.

        Welcome to the boards, muchacho!

And who knows...you might even learn a thing or two from your bros on this side of the so-called Pond?

        ...maybe not.

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

                    Greetings Maestro!

I hope you've got your 'Red' pen handy?

There are quite a few disreputable reprobates in here that are in dire need of your wisdom and guidance.

                      Warm welcome sir. Come aboard!

I also doff me cap to your namesake who is the source of two of my favourite sayings: "There are three types of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics." and "Familiarity breeds contempt... and babies!". Indeed.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. Today was a pretty good cigar day. While I worked in my yard I enjoyed a 99 Upmann Con #1 and a Rafael Gonzalez Panatelas Extra. The Upmann was great, the RG ok.

TJCoro, nice to meet a new friend from the land of the Dantes, never had one of those!

I'm not a specialist in computers or English, instead I do health research. I don't intend to get my "red" pen out unless things get utterly out of control.
