Hello All!
I've been loitering without much intent over the past few days and thought it about time I stopped lurking and said...well...hello.
As I reach my forties, I seem to be picking up all the little hobbies I remember my granddad having when I was a boy (some of them anyway; I haven't yet manage to short out all the electrics in the house with an exploding batch of homemade wine, or terrify a neighbour by keeping a pig's head in the fridge...he was making homemade sausages, not just keeping it there for decoration or anything).
The two luxuries he enjoyed were a top notch shave with a straight or DE razor and a good cigar when he could afford it, which, to be honest wasn't very often. He had his pipes which he loved, but a cigar was a treat for him. And so, it passes to me.
I've been smoking cigars for a year or so now and have a couple of small humidors containing some Ashton VSG's, Fuente Hemingway Shorts and a couple of Partagas in one, with some Diplomatico No 4's ageing in the other, but I've still got a long way to go...and frankly know next to nothing apart from bits I've picked up over the past few months. Still, I've got time and I'm looking forward to many a good smoke and some friendly chat along the way.
