Cheers but I can't see me using it. The shop reminded me of one my Grandad would visit when I was a kid so the pipe was kind of an impulse buy. Daft I know.

A clue?! Cheers again for the welcome. I've bought a couple cigars (and a pipe!) and I'm ready to give them a go.

What cigars did you get? Worth reading Cigars Review to get an idea of what cigars you might like to try. I'd recommend trying the Petit Corona or Robusto size to start with.
Also, try some St. Bruno Flake in that pipe! Video on how to use flake here. I'm only 30 31 (shit, when did that happen?) so you don't need to feel silly smoking a pipe. That said I don't do it in public...

[EDIT] Make sure you get the Flake not the Ready Rubbed!

Don't think I would feel silly smoking it, more the reason for buying it was daft. As for the cigars, I bought a Fonseca KDT Cadet and a Cohiba Siglo l. Have i now a reason to feel silly?

Not at all! You'll probably find less fans of the Fonseca round here, but that'll be because those that smoke cigars regularly tend to go for the stronger/richer sticks and the Fonsecas are on the weaker side.

Excellent. The Fonseca was recommended as a milder smoke and I wanted something to compare against so I can find my level.

As a relative beginner too I'd suggest a montecristo no 5 as a good and relatively inexpensive intro into the stronger flavours. They seem to be pretty consistent quality wise too

Even as a raw beginner I know they are no good. Worlds apart from the Cohiba and Monte No.5 I've had but I'm guessing I'm the only one here not to know that already.
