Here is a list of the cigars i have smoked and my own personal rating...

Cohiba Piramides Limited Edition (2006) Maduro 7/10

    Romeo y Julieta Churchills 8/10

Trinidad Short Robusto T Limited Edition 2010 9/10

    Montecristo Edmundo 6/10

    Romeo y Julieta Cedros No.1 - gold top (1960's) 7/10

    Punch Churchills 7/10

    Trinidad Robusto Extra 9.5/10

Senor Hamlet Paredes Custom Blend Robusto 7/10

So glad i found this forum and i can see it has a wealth of knoledge which i am vary thankful for.

Still deciding on a humidor. Thinking about this one ...

If anyone could give me there opinion that would be greatley appreciated.

Thanks again to you all, must get ready for work now.

    Cya.

      Hello there Oliver,

Welcome to the forum. Like you say, lots of knowledgeable people on here, and I have certainly benefited from their wisdom. Don't be afraid to ask is the golden rule!
Interesting to read your scores for the sticks you have tried. Bit surprised at the Edmundo score - I really like them personally, but that's the great thing about
cigar smokers - we all have different palettes! Look forward to seeing you on the forum.
      Best wishes,
      Nick (Sludgie)

        Hi Oliver,
Wow!..only 7/10 for the RyJ No1 Gold top... I rated this very highly though not overpowered it is extremely complex IMHO.
Don't get the small humidor, you'll want a bigger one ten minutes later..
Oh! Hello & welcome to the Forum.
        Puff.

            Welcome aboard Oliver!

Whereabouts in Cornwall are you from (aka, how far to the wrong side of the Tamar are you... ) We have occasional herfs in Plymouth - nothing on a major scale, but a few like-minded individuals enjoying some nice cigars. I'm also hoping to open a real, high-quality, cigar specialist, complete with 'sampling area' in Plymouth this year (then again, as the regulars will tell you, I said that last year too!)

Anyway, looks like you've been well guided in your purchasing decisions so far. If you keep buying those sorts of cigars you'll have one hell of a time enjoying them. (I'm with you on the Monte by the way).

Welcome and I agree that the humidor is way too small, you'll only be replacing it within a month so may as well get something bigger now.

                  Welcome onboard Oliver.
Glad you found us so early in your smoking career & amazed by the stix you have tried to start with. There are some top end smokes there & as you seem to have enjoyed them I can only assume you are only more likely to get deeper involved & soon be buying more than a dozen at a time. I agree with the Edmundo but think you were unlucky with the Cohiba piramide.

A 10-15 box is too small for any use IMHO. 20 stix boxes are for the Office (well designed as such when people in the western hemisphere could smoke in the office but the smallest for home use I would recommend is a 50 stix box. One of the problems of a small box is it's more tricky to keep the humidiity level acceptable, this will be come more important to you as you buy a few for now & a few for later.

Some people have collected half a dozen 50 stix humis & keep their brands seperate, others like to go for 100-300 stix cabs with drawers & glass fronts. Considering the price of cigars, buying a decent humi is a very small percentage of your likely total expendature on your new hobby in the first year to I'd go for 50-100 cab & if you give up, you'll find a buyer here for a well looked after humi so it's not money lost.

At the back left, is my first humi, kindly brought by my wife in Spain, It's a 50 stix humi, that after a couple of yrs I just used for Monte's. On the right a four drawer humi, that looks stunning & my wife also brought, on the internet. By the time I had filled these I had reached what my wife called the 'you have more than you need' phase & I have had to purchase my other humi's & Coolidors myself.
Have fun checking out the forum, SB

                      Hi Oliver, welcome.

Looks like you've tried some good cigars there already; the wonderful thing is that there are many more worth your time.

I would look at a 50 count minimum - maybe 100 and I would try to get one with a digital hygrometer that you can calibrate. Much better than the old analogue 'dial' ones.

                      Plenty here: http://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/cigar-humi...c-320_213.html

Hi everyone and thanks for the warm welcome.

Think i will take all your advice about the humidor and get a bigger one. Your one with drawers looks perfect SB. Have seen a nice black Adorini humi similar to that which i quite like.

I live about 28 miles away from Plymouth Simon-JG. Your cigar specialist plans sound very intriguing. Nothing like that in this neck of the woods so could be a very promising venture. Please keep me posted, ill be sure to come up and introduce myself.

Some nice Humis on that site moidoid. Now i just have to decide which one, lol.

                        ************(Edit by CIV - sorry)

Thanks again for your advice guys.
