    *Waves*

    Hi everyone!

After a few problems attempting to register over the past week or so (Thanks Deano for helping sort that out), I can finally say a hello to everyone, rather than just stalking the forums

I'm Jay, clocking in a relatively young 25, and I'm definitely a rookie when it comes to the cigar game. I have never smoked any other form of tobacco however, when I was 18 there was always something intriguing about cigars and I ended up smoking one whilst in Paris, which led to the beginning of my mild obsession. Since then I have always had an interest in the cigar based culture, but I never got around to taking the hobby seriously, just smoking them when and if I could.

Around a year ago, I left my job to pursue the main goal I had always had, of starting my own independent record label, which as of now is coming along quite nicely, and ready to start putting out our first releases in a couple of months time which I couldnt be more excited about. With this, and the bands I am now working with, led me to make the decision that I would need to move to LA for half of each working year, which is where I currently type this from. Since being in LA, my passion for cigars has been heavily reignited! I'm fortunate to have two great cigar lounges not too far from me, and have been there as much as possible of late, seeing as here, we are still aloud to smoke inside them! Im also very fortunate that I am heading to the Grand Havana Rooms in Beverly Hills next week, as a good friend of mine is a member there...my experience of which I will try and document here if possible, and if anyone cares to hear about it.

However, although my passion has been reignited, like I said, Im still VERY new to this game, but its at that time, where I am beginning to make the steps to taking this hobby far more seriously!

With the other half of the year, I live in London, to which I am heading back in a couple of weeks, and I look forward to trying out the cigar smoking venues I have been reading about on here through you guys.

I will try and offer as much input to the forums as possible, however...Im not quite sure just how much I can offer right now, and you will probably find me instigating more than adding anything of value!

So yes, I think thats about everything, nice to meet you all in advance, and I look forward to many a great conversations with you all!

Hope you are all having a grand week so far!

    Jay

    Hi and welcome Jay

I would be very interested in your thoughts on any non Cuban smokes you try, those are the one I have least experience of.

            Hello and Welcome,

I'd be very interested in hearing about the Grand Havana Rooms, and indeed any other good lounges in LA/CA. I've never been to California, myself and the wife always talked about doing a road trip down the coast, will have to wait until our new arrival gets a bit older now!

Please dont get me too wrong guys, my life is most certainly not that exciting. Giving up a full time income was tough, but it was to do what I love so hopefully it will all work out well in the end! I am very fortunate though that I get to spread my time between two amazing cities however, for which im grateful. Doing what I love and now working for myself definitely keeps me excited and enjoying life though!

I havent officially launched the label yet Daverave, this is planned for May, once the first couple of releases are ready to roll! Ill let everyone know when this happens though

As for my thoughts on the non cubans here, ill post reviews of everything I try in the coming weeks. When I go to the Grand Havana Rooms, i will be smoking from the recommendations of the staff I reckon, so I will let you know which! Considering Arnie buys and keeps his cigars there, Im hoping they have a pretty special collection!
