  • Howdy!

I've floated around a while, reading some of the info on the forum here and there. Thought I'd sign up, as I have nobody to talk cigars with IRL.

I've been enjoying cigars since late 2022, when I bought a pack of three Hoyo Epicure Forum for myself, my brother and my father to enjoy on Christmas day. It was a pleasant experience, and my brother and I have enjoyed cigars together since. For my 30th birthday, we visit the smoking lounge at the Lanesborough and each enjoyed a Regios De Punch LE 2017. That was what really hooked me - I loved it. Since then, I've been trying to scratch that itch for a fine, moderately aged Cuban (preferably at a reasonable price!)

I've built up a small collection of boxes in my tupperdores that I'm trying to put some years on. So far, that includes a box of 12 Trinidad Esmeralda & 12 Vigia, a box of 10 Montecristo Wide Edmundo and a box of 10 Hoyo Epicure De luxe LCDH

In terms of what I'm smoking on a regular basis, my favourites include:
    • A lot of the Romeo y Julieta line-up (Short & wide churchills, no 1/2/3, Petit Julietas)
    • Montecristo (No. 1/3/4/5)
    • Por Larranaga Petit coronas
    • I've a box of 25 Cuaba Divinos I'm working through (love the flavour, wish the construction was better!)
    • Absolutely love the Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story - only a couple left and will probably need to grab a box when I'm in New York this year
    • Macanudo Portofino - bought these in Belgium, a box of 25 tubed. They apparently had been there a while, so are aged by being unloved. But I really loved them, despite the bad press they seem to get. They made me want to seek out smaller ring gauge cigars

I think that's enough about me for now.

    tl;dr - hello everyone

Welcome. Thats a fine collection you have going there. Welcome to the hobby. Recent 2019+ cubans seem to be smoking very well. Which gives you a chance to lets things sit. Loads of options in London for lounges/terraces and more coming. Maybe see you if we organise a herf.

    Reasonable pricing is all relative!

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

I saw there was a meet-up in Surrey recently. I'm nestled right on the East Sussex/West Sussex border, so not too far. I think I may even live in the forum owner's own town, as the business address shows as just down the road from me!

Welcome onboard! Indeed, you seem to have started off well enough on your own, hopefully we can help enrich your experience, as your finances dwindle!
