Point taken. I am looking at a 5 drawer 100 stick Germanus at the moment. It is second hand but looks in very good condition.

That's great news to know I am not alone here. I come to the conclusion I could not waste another £12 on a packet of cigs and hate every one of them at the same. Now a cigar is a different kettle of fish.

Aye you’re not the only one here, although I think we’re a rare breed in these parts (not sensed it on here at all which is nice, but I’ve got the distinct impression many cigar connoisseurs despise cigarette smokers 🙈). I’ve been moaning about the cost of cigs for years, however I thought cigs were expensive until I started buying cigars 🤣 when you weight up cost vs pleasure though it’s a no brainier 👌🏼.

Germanus have a 'B-Stock' section on their website (a little hidden I think, but its somewhere in their menus). I bought my last one there at a decent discount and pretty damn cheap, even with it delivered from Germany. Its served me well so far and no noticeable damage.

Look into simpe lock n lock boxes and boveda pouches. That will see your sticks safe and sound in the meantime

Welcome to the forum. Tupperware/ lock n lock and Bovedas are definitely something I woukd recommend. Humidors are nice to have but I wish I'd spent more on cigars than storage when I was starting out. Plus is the Bovedas are more stable and last much longer in sealed plastic containers than wood.

I have a few cigars now & I would say it's nice to start off with at least one nice, presentable, attractive humi you can take pride in. My wife even bought me my first 50 stick & first 5 drawer humi's (& she hates cigars) & was happy for them to take pride of place in the living room. But should you fall head of heels down the long slippery slope & end up buying more & by the box, then indeed I would recommend Coolidors e.g. Igloo Cool boxes/ Lock tupperware type boxes. These do the job as well as fancy & very expensive large cabinent humi's & can be hidden away. Just keep your cigars stable. You want the=m out of direct sunlight & not too cold either. Stability is more important; then get a digital hydrometer & store around 63-65%. That's the Goldilocks range.
