  • Moving up to Quality not Quantity

    Hi Guys,

Just joined the forum, I have been smoking for years and made the transition to cigars about three years ago smoking Winterman Slims and Cafe Creme mainly just as a normal everyday smoke.

I have now discovered the truly amazing world of cigars out there that have to be smoked as an event all on its own and have decided to enjoy the quality over just quantity.

Each cigar I now have is a joy since I purchased some Romeo y Julieta No. 2 and a H.Upmann Magnum 46. both of which I have enjoyed immensely.

I live in Swadlincote in the Midlands, and now have lots of reading to catch up on now I have found this forum.

Any suggestions on the one's not to be missed would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    Simon

A warm welcome to the forum Simon, nice first post

Ones not to be missed? Jeez, there's a heap of cigars that fit that criteria very neatly and I'll let members chip in.

Have a good read around, check the reviews and hang on to your wallet

A good peer review site worth checking out

Welcome Simon! Good to have you aboard this ever packed ship of ours. I think the reviews section (as cj121 pointed out) is pretty good for some ideas as to future tasters; the 'new in the humidor' is nice to see what others have in their valued boxes; CC and NC discussions sections are good also. Of course you could always utilise the 'search' facility to hone in on any specifics.

LOL. Credit Card? Better give that to your wife for safe keeping! Believe me, it will cost you less in the long run. As others have stated, best to read some reviews and pick out singles to try as it is very hard to recommend cigars to someone. I'll give you just one though, since you enjoy the Upmann Mag 46, try a Ramon Allones Small Club Corona some time. It is a good smoke without age & will give you a nice intro into the RA line. Most of all, enjoy your journey.
What would I know? I'm just a backwoods roo packin crim from New Holland! LOL. (Thankyou El Cat)

HI Simon. There is loads to go at! Cuban faves of mine are:
              Ramon Allones Specially selected,
              Partagas Serie D No 4 and Serie P No2
              Hoyo Petit Robusto
              Trinidad Reyes and robusto (pricey)
Cohiba Siglo2 (The only one I've tried, pricey)
The best thing is buying singles and finding out.
Like everyone says-how robust is your credit card?!
