    Hi Phil

Welcome to the forum. It's a good place to learn a lot and waist a few hours. I'm also Oxfordshire based so good to see another brother so close by.

As the others have said start with a reasonable size like the petit coronas and work up from there also check out a robusto as these are a great size too.

      Welcome aboard Phil!

A couple of recommendations from me:

El Rey del Mundo Petit Corona - perhaps the perfect beginners cigar? Light bodied, but with a decent, mild flavour. I still love them, and rank them amongst my favourites.

Romeo y Julieta - a wide number of choices here. A straightforward No2 would be a decent shout.

The smaller Upmann's are also good shouts. Any of their cigars with corona in the name are decent 'early career' cigars (corona junior, corona major, corona...)

Welcome back to the cigar fold. Enjoy!

              Hi Phil, welcome along.

Won't give you any advice on particular cigars as plenty been given already, but its really a matter of personal taste anyway. Trial and error. Decide what you think you want, ie mild, medium, full, then try in these varieties.
Everyone, especially beginners, find their tastes, and what flavours they can detect, develop over time. For this reason I like to try a recommended cigar before getting too tied up in what a reviewer finds he/she can taste, and trying to decide what I can detect first. In the past I did it the other way round and lost the enjoyment while busily trying to detect chocolate flavours or clove etc.

Anyway, enough Bulls**t. Enjoy your hobby.

Welcome to the forum Phil, my old dad used to smoke cigars as well and that's what got me into them in the first place as well

                  Welcome and enjoy.

As has been mentioned so far you do need to buy a much bigger humidor than you think you will need. It is very addictive, I've only been here a month and have already purchased a fridge, shedload of cedar, trays etc. to make a much bigger storage device.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the recommendations guys! It's my birthday in August so I know what I'll be asking family and friends for

As a northern lad born on the right side of the Tyne, I couldn't possible mix with the enemy! Just joking! I don't get back up north that often but if you guys have meet's I might see if I could make one.

Oh, a friend bought me a cigar as a thank for helping him out, it's a Te-Amo Aniversario Vintage 99 and apart from it being Mexican it's not a brand I'm familiar with. Has any one smoked one before? I'll have a search here for any reviews.
