  • Greatings from Scotland

    Hi i`m Chris! another newbie.
Currently in the Scottish Borders, fantastic part of the country!.
I started smoking cigars about 12 yrs ago, i started with Henri wintermanns thinking it wasnt all it was cracked up to be. Little did i know back then how big the cigar world was!, my uncle was the first to get me into what i would class as heven then. It was an H. Upmann, maybe a corona, how do i remember ?? i kept the label, its still in my first cigar book on the etiquette of smoking cigars, still smoking them today.

This site is fantastic! it has some great members, and from all around the world too.

Does anybody else remember their first cigar that got them started?.

Its great to meet everyone and i look forward to many late night discussions about cigars and everything to do with them!.
Chill out and enjoy a good cuban when you can

Hi Chris, thanks for signing up to our burgeoning site.

My Uncle majorly likes cigars, and my Dad introduced me to them dozens of times - probably where I get it from, however, the interest really perked when I went to Cuba, then set up these forums realising there was no specific UK site.

        Hello, Chris!

I nicked the first Havanas I smoked from my Dad's stash as a young teenager when he wasn't looking and was hooked straight away!

I've noted what you wrote about trips to Cuba on another thread and hope you will post pictures of the festival out there if you can.

        All the best
        Bryan

          Hi Chris...and welcome.

Someone else in the Scottish Borders!! Thought I was alone up here!

I'm in Chirnside, between Duns and the Coast. Never seen anyone smoking a cigar here, but as I'm up to my ears in nappies (new child just arrived), I haven't had a cigar myself either this year.

          Enjoy your Cuban trip!

          Cheers,

          Wildwood

              Hi SC,

Yep, hands are full, rest of me knackered too!

Only other poster I'm aware of in this bit of the world is Shed17, who has a place in North Berwick, but I think is not there a lot of the time.

I tend to be a Summer smoker, 'coz I wait until the kids are in bed before I light up, and smoke out in the garden...bit of a waste to light up a good Cuban in the cold dark rain otherwise!

I need a properly set up shed like some of the more serious cigar smokers on the site...will work on that...

              Cheers,

              Wildwood (Malcolm)
