Hey guys, just thought of introducing myself to this forum (which I happened to have found by sheer chance!).

In my early 30s, been working in the city of London for over half my life, finished my masters last year, am a bit of a wristwatch connoisseur, and appreciate a good cigar (since the late 1990s).

I am certainly impressed with the level of knowledge, experience, not to mention 'collection' of many of the members here. I have definitely gained more insight into cigars than I have all my life, consequently having made multiple purchases these past few days...

      Hello Rolan6 and welcome.

I have just recently been enticed into the world of Horology, still getting my head round all the terminaology, do you have a collection?

        Hey Ro
        Welcome to the Forum.

With the Cohiba Behike launch this week it feels like London is the centre of the world for cigars.

A dangerous field horology (dangerous for your pocket that is!). I do have a small collection of a Jaeger le Coultre, Brietlings and Patek Philippes. Every year I tend to spend even more money on a watch, though thankfully for the mrs I've held back this year. What has enticed you into this field?

And thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!

            I like shiney things!

A friend recently purchased a super avenger and once I got hands on with it, I could see what all the fuss was about...started doing a bit of research which opened up a can of worms, movements, histories... there is just so much to learn. Before this a fine watch, to me, was solely a status symbol, which I dont care too much for. I now know the error of my ways.

I do like my Pateks but sadly out of my range.

            Whats your preffered cigars?

            cigars and watches...deadly combination

Welcome to the forum . I'm not a collector, but I do like a nice watch. Have a tag heuer 2000 chrono for day to day wear, and am looking at the blue face Tag monaco chrono. I do like Breitlings but they are very pricey as you will know lol

I tried a few breutlings recently but hated them because of the weight and thickness. Really disappointed because I love the blue. Faced ones and the detail on the bently ones :-(

I'm far too inexperienced to confidently state a preference, which is why I'm making use of forum members' experience to aid the process. I'll let you know what I think of the H.Upmanns I ordered.

I started off liking the the so-called 'bling' in watches, but as I begun to read and understand more about horology I started seeing things in a new light. I think when you start to comprehend the difference between a ?100K watch, a ?30K watch, and a ?3K watch in terms of its mechanical movement, then can you perhaps start to appreciate a fine writswatch. I guess the same can be true with cigars!

Thanks. Tag Heuer have made really good models recently. You certainly cannot go wrong with the Monaco chrono! I believe that was what Al Pacino was wearing in the film '88 Minutes'!

Bentleys are Breitling's bigger range models. Other models wont be as big or heavy, like the new Superocean Heritage, or lighter like the Emergency in titanium.

You could always diversify to other sports watches that won't be so heavy or thick such us IWC, Rolex, and Omega.

Nice to have you here, and hear about your penchant for a fine cigar and timepiece.

I must say, I'm not adverse to having one off the wrist myself

Thank you. I am sure my knowledge and subsequent taste in a good cigar will mature in time.
