Yes indeed, wrappers may protect the cigar from wrapper damage, but to keep it sufficiently humid, it needs to be stored in a humidor. Same with those that come in tubes, they sometimes have a sheet of cedarwood inside which can help with humidifcation, but it is always best to store them in a humidor if you're keeping them around for anymore than 12/24 hours.

As for some new cigars to try, I made the same thread a while back, and documented the list in spreadsheet form, so check it out

I'm very new to the cigar world, but I would heartily recommend the Bolivar Royal Corona if you like a fuller smoke.

        Welcome
Looks like your list so far is all machine made euro cigars.....

Id agree with the spread sheet above, its got a good selection

But id also recomend some of the sampler packs from cgars for an intro, once you have a humidor

You could, as long as you had an airtight lining.

The Punch Coronation will probably be a revelation to you after the other stuff you listed.

Some of my suggestions (in no particular order):

              Ramon Allones Specially Selected
              Bolivar Belicosos Finos
              Bolivar Royal Corona
              Partagas Serie D No. 4
Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No. 4
              Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill
Hoyo do Monterrey Epicure No. 2
              H. Upmann Magnum 46
              Montecristo No. 2
              Punch Punch

Any of the above should give you what you're looking for as a newbie.

Very lucky in that my grandads next door neighbour was a long time member of the National Bonsai Society in Southport. I joined and grew my trees for over 20 years upto competition level, growing from seed, buying in field stock and collecting yamadori. About 4 years ago, while on holiday, vandals broke into my garden and smashed them all too pieces, including my Gorden duffet pots, all in all about 500 trees. I couldn't bring myself to start again, though my wife keeps trying to get me to go back to the club

Hope you enjoy it here, and if you ever want to discuss bonsai, give me a shout
I will. Im sorry to hear about your tree's. Some people are just pointless.

I'm just starting out really although I have a couple of ten year old oaks from acorns from an oak tree my granma had in her garden that she planted in small pots and that bonsai'd themselves with nice thick trunks. Last year I planted lots of apple and cherry seeds and collecting various small trees from the garden. I think the winter may have been a bit cold for most of the seeds. I have lots of Japanese black pine to go in the trays next.

I have a good book on the subject and a decient knowledge of general gardening so im hopefull I'll be able to become ok at it.

I collect suiseki from Bridlington bay where theres a huge variety of rocks in the mud cliffs as it used to be a glacier that picked stuff up as it moved and they go nicely with bonsai. Im studying Japanese language at college at the moment aswell as access to higher ed and pottery and just today I got a place at Leicester university to study geology so I may smoke my punch cigar later to celebrate. Theyre one of the few unis in the UK to have botanical gardens so I'll enjoy that. I like collecting fossils too and theres great jurrassic ones such as amonites and belomnites on that stretch of coastline.

Bradford. Its great here, you should visit. It has to be the number one place in the uk to visit if you want to appriciate where you live more. The council knocks large parts of the city centre down and then leaves the resulting wasteland for ten years and then rather than fixing it they start knocking yet more stuff down. Now they have an idea for replacing the city centre with a lake which at this point is probably the best plan.

Thanks I shall attempt to make a humidor and then try those. Would I just neet to make an airtight container or would it need some sort of humidity guage? I notice some do.

I was thinking of getting some romeo y julieta mini's to smoke while my college friends smoke cigs. What do you think of those?

Aye, but you can't beat a slow, scenic drive up Manningham lane for a good curry and whatever else teks yer fancy.

Thats certainly enough to get me started. Ill check the cgars sampler packs and see if any of them contain any of the ones on these lists once I sort out a humidor. Thanks.
