Newbie in Manchester

Hello all.

I'm 33 and been smoking cigars on and off for a good few years (manly corner shop bought ones) but recently I've started buying hand rolled cigars from the tobacconist near work. (C Aston in St Annes Square Manchester).
Last year I started to smoke a pipe but have pretty much knocked that on the head in favour of cigars.
I've smoked many cigars but I bought my first Cuban only the other week, it was a Romeo Y Juliet No.3 and I really enjoyed it, I'm tempted to buy a box but not sure what the wife would say to that.
In the next few days I'm going to buy a humidor from ebay and start getting a collection going.

Greetings Ben from a fellow northerner (originally from Wigan but living down south currently). The Romeo Y Julieta is a great introduction cigar although i would hold off buying a box and experiment with a few other similar brands and sizes, you never know you might find something you like even better. Although i plan on getting a box of RyJ Churchills or short Churchills when i visit Gib in Jun.

Search the forum and you will find many recommendations and dealers online. I would only say buy as big as you can, i know i wish i had bought bigger, it as amazing how quick they breed and take up so much space.

I'd defiantly avoid the box, variety is the spice of life? Take some time to discover what you like.

I purchased my first, and my only desktop in april 08, I do keep it extremely full, but I'm yet to make my first box purchase. It is tremendously easy to be completely captivated by this hobby, if it is indeed possible within your means then go a head and buy big humidor now, because if your means allow you to, it will be full.

As the others have said, when buying your humidor, buy one which is bigger than you can imagine you'll need... Just think about how big you think you can see yourself needing, the n double it and add on a bit. Taking up hand-rolled, premium cigars was a bad enough decision, but joining this depraved house of fun will bankrupt you...
