I'm afraid your right about our options... I even started to consider setting a cigar store up myself (on the back-burner for the time-being unfortunately).

The only other place that had much more than Hamlets (according to my H&F source ) was the Counting House - the piano bar without a piano... - which has now closed.

Now that there are at least two of us in Plymouth, a couple on the wrong side of the Tamar, and (I think) a couple of others in the Devon area, I will have to reconsider the idea for a Barbican based herf.

lol i have seriously considered my own retail business as well down here both shop and online, there is really no where close to get quality cigars or decent multi buy deals where you co go in and actually see the products
          great minds eh.. lol

i dunno about the barbican tho, that would be quite picey on ground rent etc.

Mitch has considered the option in the last few years as well

I've even been as far as talking to a couple of guys as H&F. Just a case of getting the funding (most banks probably aren't keen to lend to tobacco led businesses at the moment, if ever).

There's a reasonable unit near me, not quite the Barbican, but on the edge. Would be a goer.

We definitely need a herf though. Some time in May perhaps, once the weather's a bit warmer. We've got the sun now, just need the heat.

I organised a herf on the Barbican last Easter, weather was fantasic, unfortunately due to other commimtents,we had several cancellations but those that turned up had a great time, recommend starting/ meeting at 'View 2', see the photos in my Herf album.
