Hi all,
a few weeks ago I received a mail from Dean which is how I found this interesting forum.
I have been reading here, and first of all, I'd like to thank for the kind words on my site/blog.
Being retired means I won't have much time to post or contribute, but I'd like to say hello to you all and wish you, your loved ones and friends a very happy new year !
Here's my introduction to UKCF.
Best regards from a sunny but veeeery kold german village !
Nino
Hello All,
My name is Nino, I am 56 years old, married, born in Spain, educated and living in Germany.
My professional background is Banking (Deutsche Bank 70-73), Air Force ( USAFE, Germany 73-75) and finally Deutsche Lufthansa, German Airlines, where, from 1975 to 2009 I have been Cabin Crew, retiring as a Chief Purser on B-747 and A-340 and flying mostly Asian routes.
My interest in cigars is a typical Spanish approach to them, I like them, I smoke them, I have a cultural affinity to Cuba.
I have the highest respect for the tobacco growers, the rollers, the factory employees, the artisans and the vendors.
However, I am not in the idolatry, scientific or collectors corner regarding cigars
Also, I have no connection to either cigar industry or trade other than my friendship to Mr Portmann, a well respected Swiss vendor who has opened doors for me in Cuba.
Through him I have been fortunate to get to know great cigar people both in Cuba and Germany.
To me good cigars, like good wine and good food, are an essential part of Life?s quality.
Even more enjoyable, when the time and joy of smoking them is shared with good friends.
Locally, I have a group of good friends to share the cigar hobby, and I am very fortunate in living in a village where the Pharmacist is a respected cigar smoker and provides a place to smoke every 2 weeks in his old lab for a group of smokers.
Thank you for inviting me.
Nino
