I found this forum whilst searching the net for advice on humidors. Having lurked for a little while I thought it was about time I said hello - even though I suspect I am in the minority here what with being a lady!
My love affair with cigars started as a curiosity a few years ago whilst I was still a music student at University. After a successful concert performance some of the more sophisticated male members of the orchestra would break out the cigars at the bar. Although I was never confident enough to try them at the time, the pleasant aromas stuck with me and I always promised myself "one of these days"...
One of those days came last Christmas and I found myself with an opportunity to try a Hamlet - hey, we all have to start somewhere! I enjoyed it so much that the 5-pack didn?t last very long. Over the next few months (and much to the awe of my husband) I have journeyed my way through the supermarket kiosk via Henri Winterman Half Coronas, Castellas and finally Villiger Premium Tubos. Clearly my taste buds had not been sated, and Cubans were the next logical progression.
A few weeks ago I paid a visit to a cigar shop in London and had my first Montecristo No. 5, which was absolutely sublime, and a very satisfying JLP Nacionales. I then thought about investing in a humi (now acquired and slowly being stocked), which was when I came across this very resourceful and friendly-sounding forum. And that brings me neatly back to the present!
I hope I have not bored you with my rambling introduction and look forward to becoming part of this community.
