    Hey Don, and welcome.
Great to have you here at the very start of your Cigar life. I hope you will find we are a pretty straight bunch and if you need to ask don't be afraid to ask.

My favourite is the Trinidad Reyes, good size, good price if you are smoking them regularly, and very tasty without blowing your head off.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

          Hey,

Welcome to the forum. I've recently placed my first order with cigar.com for the Big bombshell sampler pack. I'm sure if you buy in bulk you might be able to make a saving. I've worked out that I'm paying about ?2 - ?3 per stick.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it here I certainly am.
          Thanks

          The Bear.

Wow, thanks for the great continued advice!

I study project management in construction at glammorgan uni, only about 7 months left thank god. 18 years of school is starting to do my nut in.

Ive been looking into sampler packs from cigar.com, i need to get a new credit card to allow me to pay directly as atm i can only pay via [EDITED] which isnt that great when it comes to tobbacco products.

Will be heading into cardiff day after tommorow and have a short list of 3-4 cigars im gonna pick up.

As a regular smoker i find it difficult to judge how often cigars should be smoked, i know everyone is different so could people comment on when/where they smoke?

So far ive smoked as a group playing cards but was very drunk, in the car spinning about here and there and on my own enjoying some quality peace and quiet. All have been enjoyable but i find peace and quiet with a stiff drink and some nice music has been best to appreciate the smoke. Its just if im gonna spend a fair few quids i wanna know what/where to try out etc

                Don

I usually have at least one cigar a day usually after work when i get home sometimes before dinner or after really.
One of my best mates enjoys cigars so if we go out we end up putting the world to rights with a stogie and a few glasses of something.
I like to smoke at home mostly i don,t tend to enjoy my cigars when im walking the dogs , i find my whole smoking cigar ritual more of a relaxing experience , but hey thats just me matey

Welcome! There are a growing number on here in the South Wales area and there have been a couple of meets already. Put yourself on the map!

Definitely check out The Bear Shop in Wyndham Arcade. It's near the new John Lewis... A good enough selection at not unreasonable prices (by UK standards).

Smoke as often as you like! I generally smoke 2-4 a week myself but that is by no means typical. I would definitely investigate hand-rolled cigars. You may be astonished. As Nic suggested, a Trinidad Reyes would be a pleasant introduction and they sell them in The Bear Shop.

For storage, until you decide that you want to commit to buying a humidor, a tupperware box and a 69% Boveda pack to regulate the humidity will do the job perfectly.

Just ordered a box from cigarsofhabanos, had some money floating around im not using so figured why not :P

Only had enough dosh for romeo y julieta, quite possibly the cheapest box on there lmao but still apparently very tasty.

Still looking forward to getting a better selection from a shop though.

                      Don

Yeah i had a look but cigarsofhabanos didnt seem to have sampler packs. Worse than that i dont have a student loan Only savings from what i earn in the summer which makes my bank balance that much more dire lol Only 7 odd months left though :P

we all start somewhere with a first purchase, so now your journey begins..you'll just have to flog stuff on ebay to buy more stogies..remember your crap will be someone elses treasure. you could always ask your uni mates for stuff they don't want and flog that too.

Hi Don - welcome to the forum

1001 Cubans have a good range of singles but they have a minumum order of $100. Maybe someone else would chip in with if you fancied a few singles but didn't want to spend the full $100 yourself!?!?!

With the exchange rate going back up i dont mind paying a $100, as long as its for a fair few sticks.

The problem is [EDITED] dont allow transfers for tobacco products so no ciggy sites accept it and my card is a lame student card which doesnt allow me to pay for things online (or even in rl shops).

I have another question, when being sent a box are there any custom problems/laws i should know about? I know cubans aren't allowed in the US but not here right? If so what sort of charges are there etc?
