  • Hi from Scotland

    Hi all,

I'm Rob, from Scotland. I joined mainly because I have a cigar box one of your esteemed members wishes to purchase

However that's not to say I'm not interested in cigars...my parents smoked all my young life and I detest cigarettes however there is something about cigars which is totally different, more refined, classy...not to mention that rich smell...

My ex girlfriend smoked cigars and she was a fox

Says to self: Not another bloody Scot...

      Welcome aboard!

Completely agree with you regarding cigars v cigarettes. I'm a smoking hypocrite, but like you say, there's just a certain something about cigars that lets them pass...

Rob, I'd start with a medium to light smoke that can be appreciated by an unexperienced pallet, something like a romeo Y julieta short Churchill.

I'd stay clear of Partagas, Montecristo and any other full flavoured smoke for the time being, Don't get me wrong, they are great smokes but you may be overwhelmed by the strength.

Bloody hell! I knew I'd forgotten something in the reply! Definitely require pics (despite previous protestations of cigars and ladies in the same picture ).

A couple of good brands that I found for starting on the cigar toting road are Romeo y Julieta and El Rey del Mundo. Both brands which offer high quality, flavoursome smokes, but with slightly less of the kick...

PS. Are you from anywhere near Inverurie? I know a fair few Scots, the guy from Inverurie was the most passionate about his hometown though.
