Ok here goes?..
I do everything ?Arse about elbow?
Ive been a member since Jan 18 ? a lurker and not a poster. I used the site before then when googling questions I had as reference etc. ive started posting now and learned a lot already.
Anyway, im relatively new to cigars. I was gifted a large box of King Edwards when my 1st kid was born 21 years ago, I fell in love but kept them on top of a fridge and didn?t have 2p to rub together ? they died and I had food to buy, so that was the end of that.
About 10 years ago, I went to Amsterdam (calm down was with the wife) and while in a baccy shop for cigs, they had a massive selection of cigars. I bought a load of cheap Dutch cigars and a few Cubans. I literally just binned the Dutch ones but my love affair began then.
To store the Dutch cigars (remember the King Edwards) I bought a humidor and started buying 2s 3s etc of Cubans when on holiday. I finally quit smoking cigs and treated myself to the Dutch cigars every now and then ? there simply shit!
I?m a Whisky collector, love a nice cigar with a nice malt but because my Mrs is so anti-smoking now, it?s a rare treat to burn one, even rarer cos I live in N Ireland (originally a Jock) and the weather is worse than Dutch cigars!
Maybe twice a month at a push, I can either brave the weather ? unless its summer or find a rare opening or grow a pair and have one (when her indoors is outdoors) ive plans to build a smoking shed ? more of a point than necessity lol
I fill my boots when on holiday and have 1 every day but im usually oversampling the Whisky and could be puffing on cow dung for all im aware.
I don?t mind the wait for a puff or the wife?s anti cigar stance, I really enjoy them best when alone and at peace ? makes it even better!
So, ive finally decided to commit and start my journey as a cigar lover. Im happy to be finally posting and learning from you guys.
ive only about a dozen Cubans and the usual suspects - so ill be reading a lot and more than likely buying a lot!
Thanks for making me feel welcome already
