Hi guys, I thought I should say hi and introduce myself
My name is Jason, I’m 54 and I live in north Wales, just across the border from England, which is half a mile away
Anyway, I've been a cigar smoker since I was about 23. I'd smoke one or two cigars a week but I didn't become a cigar fanatic until 2002, when I moved to Boynton Beach, Florida. As you probably know, Florida has a huge cigar culture, and there are cigar bars and cigar shops all over the place, and they became very tempting, and a place to escape to. I was in Florida until 2012 and in that time, my love of cigars grew and grew (much to the hatred of my wife) (or rather, my now ex-wife)
I'm probably in the minority, because I prefer (and am used to) new world cigars. Very few Cubans have floated my boat over the years, so even now I'm back in the UK, I still smoke new world cigars, mostly Honduran and Nicaraguan. I smoke at least one cigar per day, and tend to prefer larger cigars, mostly 50 and 60 ring gauge. I told you I was in the minority
I'm here because I miss being able to mix with other cigar men. I used to go to cigar bars in Florida 2-3 times a week, for an hour or two at a time. It was inexpensive, casual, relaxing and full of likeminded men to chat to, and I miss that camaraderie, and admittedly I sometimes feel quite lonely without it. There is a cigar shop in Chester with a 'sampling area' but I dont really enjoy it there. So I thought I'd sign up here and hopefully get my fill of camaraderie online instead.
Anyway, thats me in a nutshell!
