Besides, while there are some folks who have a uniques talent/palate for identifying the subtle shades of a puro, most don't and, in my opinion, just fake it...like me, for example.
Now don't get me wrong. There are times when I will sit back with a fine puro, a flavor wheel, and attempt to pick out the various flavors and changes as the puro progresses. Mostly, however, I prefer to just grab a stick and enjoy it without giving it too much thought. Besides....it's hard work!
That's what I do, anyways.

Haha! It does seem like hard work at the moment, but still interesting none the less. All about the enjoyment and relaxation!

Samplers are the way to go for finding out what works and keep a little note book so you can revisit those and create a hit list. And avoid the mistakes of course.
I've ordered a note book to jot down, my recent tries have been a davidoff winston churchill petite panatella (spitfire) and C.Gars :Dutch Blend Senoritas. Both were very pleasant.

Welcome to the forum, Tomos. Have a look at the flavour wheel that TJCoro AKA Bag Boy AKA el Gaucho Loco (ok, I made up that last one) mentions. It's a very useful reference point. Every once in a while certain flavours really leap out for me, or I can really notice a change in a cigar. More often than not, though, I just enjoy what I'm smoking and relax. Worrying to much about developing a too sophisticated palate could take that enjoyment away
