  • Hello from Bristol

    Hello everyone,

I got into cigars almost two years ago after a friend of mine gifted me a fake Cohiba. It was a horrible experience but I went to a cigar shop to try another one, just to check if they are all bad. After trying a few others I started to appreciate smoking cigars and joined an online forum. I met other cigars smokers and it became a real hobby for me. I'm mainly into cuban cigars, and I gravitate around Partagas, Ramon Allones, H.Upmann, Trinidad and Por Larranaga.

I'm joining UKCF because I've moved to Bristol a few days ago. If you know any cigar friendly bars/restaurants in Bristol please let me know. I haven't met a lot of people in the area and I would be more than happy to find some cigar smoking buddies around Bristol

Welcome! Bristol is a great city and very friendly so I'm sure you'll find venues and like-minded aficionados very quickly. I know the Hotel du Vin has a cigar lounge and there are various other places with good terraces, although smoking policies will vary - try some of the bars and restaurants on Park Street, around St Nick's market, in Clifton and up Whiteladies Road. I'm not sure what the smoking policy is on the terrace at the Avon Gorge Hotel, but on a Summer's evening that would have to rate as one of the truly great venues for a cigar.

Indeed, welcome onboard! I have a very good friend in Bristol, who likes to herf near the Uni (he's a Professor of computer science), if you stick around to get PM status I'll pass his details on.

Welcome to the UKCF. I'm rather fond of Bristol, have several friends who moved down there in the last decade so always good fun to visit, though I'm afraid I've no idea about the cigar scene down there.
