Yeah i was a social smoker, just had the occasional ciggarette when i was out drinking with friends, now im on the cigars a friend offered me one a cigarette couple of months ago so i tried it and didnt like it, since my dad has got me into cigars i wont touch ciggarettes now

Much the same matey always had this fasination with cigars the smell ect but at school,college ect you look at bit of a knob smoking a phat cigar at breaktime lol, so went down the cigarette road not majorly, never really enjoyed the fags hav,nt touched one for ages now i,ll stick to my cigars ,and its quiet nice now that a few of my mates are turning to cigars so we can compere notes ect.
What do you like cuban or non cuban? i tend to smoke more cuban at the minute however i do like my NUBS at the minute .

Yeah im trying to convert a few of my friends too, no luck yet though.
Im still fairly new to the world of cigars i guess, the only ones i smoke are the ones that my dad (cigarsmoke) gives me or when we are smoking together, i have had a mixture but couldnt realy say i have realy sat down and compared them as you get good non cubans aswell, i mostly smoke smaller cigars when im out drinking with friends because bigger ones take to long to smoke when your outside a club and everyone else is on the fags, im smoking a lot of Panther Mignons at the moment wich are dutch, they are nice, i realy liked the Monte Cristo Clubs that i had before aswell.

Yea know what you mean , those Panther ones are ok i,ve had them before liked them a lot, and the montes are always a nice little smoke.

I think its impossible to convert a certain type, from what i've seen, cigar smokers are very sentimental and interesting people. To understand and love the cigar world it takes alot of personal interest and thoughtfulness.

Some people simply dont care how a cohiba will smoke compared to a partagas, they dont grasp the workmanship put into most cigars, the fact that that little stick has been made with care by someone, and has been kept in humid conditions with care. When I think about a cigar like that, that makes part of the experience, I still look at my cigars like I did with my first one, it still makes me amazed that youre essentially smoking some leaves, the flavors, the aromas, the look, everything is taken into account and that's what makes a cigar.

Now itd be very general of me to say people who dont appriciate that are mentally dumb, but it does make me wonder. Since taking up cigars and when telling people about them there's two types, the people that do or dont smoke them, but love talking about them; and others that think theyre just a bigger ciggarette. Mental block?
