Thank you for accepting me into the UKCF club! Just a little bit about me - I've been smoking cigars on and off for 20 plus years, but without much knowledge or appreciation of what I was doing, although obviously with some enjoyment! I lived in Africa for many years and kept myself in smokes on trips to Nairobi where the duty free at Jomo Kenyata usually had a selection of reasonably priced cigars. On one rushed trip to Guinea Bissau, I found I'd forgotten to pack any cigars, and local enquiries had led nowhere. Then by chance, one evening I spied a local smoking a decent looking cigar so went and asked him where he'd got it. It turned out he had worked in the countries embassy in Cuba - Guinea Bissau had quite strong links to Cuba in the past - and he offered to sell me a box of H. Upmann Sir Winstons for a very good price - I've still got a few left for special occasions
Enough reminiscing. Looking forward to expanding my knowledge and maybe even meeting up with other local cigar smokers.
