This is just my opinion.....
I would definately season your himidor as unseasoned wood may absorb moisture from your cigars
I would avoid seasoning by wiping water round the inside, as this method can warp the wood(maybe the guy on cgars meant dont do this method rather than dont season).
Either get a boveda seasoning pack or place a small container of distilled water inside and leave it a couple of weeks.
Yes a small drop in humidity is normal as cold air can't hold as much moisture as warm. My humi has 3 large 69% bovedas in and is sitting about 64-65% as long as it doesn't drop into the 50's i wouldn't panic.
Even with your bovedas in you may still not achieve 69% inside as the wood will absorb some, anywhere in the mid 60s is fine and your cigars will be ok.
Just my take on it someone with more experience may have other ideas. Hope this helps
