That's a shame your first cigar experience was the best...it always is a better experience when you are nice and relaxed with a drink waiting for you.

Most places will let you take a drink in, I always have a bottle of coke in my bag. Pace yourself and don't rush it, a good rule of thumb for a new smoker is a draw a minute. A sweetened drink is also a good idea as the sugar will combat the effect of the nicotine if you're not used to it and don't inhale.

Hi mate enjoy the forum. As your first smoke I think they should have made you more welcome with a drink. I love the Reyes, with out making too many recommendations I would just try them all !!

A better welcome would have been preferred and would be more beneficial to the shop, ensuring returning customers but I will give them another try soon. Maybe I expected too much!

Look forward to a herf. It would be good to enjoy a cigar in the company of others.

Hi Dylan. I'd echo the Trini Reyes as a good first choice and also suggest the HdM Petit Robusto which, as a newbie, I found a really good 'early step' too.
