  • My first cigar...

A very green question. I've smoked a few machine rolled cigars in my time but never really been blown away by them. However I had my first proper cigar at my wedding two weeks ago with some whisky I'd been saving - it was a wonderful experience and I have been reading about cigars ever since. I'm just looking to purchase my first one and I'm a bit overwhelmed by the range of choices and prices.

I'm lucky enough to have a shop nearby - http://www.cubancigarclub.co.uk - so was going to buy a few from there but would really love some advice on a couple to go for - and how much to spend.

    any thoughts much appreciated!

    Matt

A warm welcome Matt, regards recommendations I'd advise you to go and introduce yourself to your local b&m have a chat with them and they will be able to supply you with a sample pack of small coronas from different brands. I'd imagine they will be around the ?10 mark each and it will give you an insight into the brands flavours and profiles

Sound advice on having a chat and getting a sampler! My first cigar was a whisky/cigar epiphany.

Welcome along and enjoy the whole experience.

Cigars are vegetarian, we should all remember that. We're *being* healthy!

Sound advice from oskihen however i'd probably be inclined to try a sample selection with some different vitolas too. Preferred Vitola tends to come before flavour early on ime.

Don't buy the Albert Bradley Texas Lancero on the link you posted!

Unless you need a draught excluder. Or a fragrant rolling pin.

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you get more advice than you can digest. So all I'll say is enjoy the ride and don't be put off by the occasional bad smoke.

Welcome to the forum Matt.. some great advice already.

Also don't judge a cigar on its price...it all depends on your taste once you know whst you like

Enjoy the ride and empty pockets lol

Welcome to the forum Matt think you need to try a few different brands and gauges of cigars
to realy find out what you like and dislike we could name different brands and gauges we like, but you may not like yourself.
