Congratulations on the forthcoming "events" guys and thanks again for the welcome.

Great conversation regarding what is a "reasonable price" , I may not be being as cheap as I initially thought as a lot of the cigars I have tried are in the ?5-?10 bracket. I am heading over to Vegas in October, can I expect much cheapness over there? Any recommendations?

Vegas Baby! What's your game? I'm partial to Craps, myself.

Regarding prices - you will find the best prices on NCs if you go outside the casinos. Casinos have nice humidors, but a bit pricy. Being from the UK, however, you may find the prices quite reasonable. Sadly, you can't buy Cubans in the U.S.....yet!

Just about anything by Arturo Fuente (A. Fuente) are quite nice, such as the Hemingway line. And if you're feeling rich, try a God of Fire, by A. Fuente. Otherwise, try the A. Fuente 858 for an economy cigar - available in natural, maduro, and Claro!

Had a look at the craps tables when I was there last year and couldn't follow what was happening RB , had a go on the blackjack tables but the money didn't last long, it was less like gambling and more like me donating money straight to the casino!!

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll take note and keep an eye open for them when I'm there.

Common sense is not a gift, it's a punishment as you have to deal with everyone who doesn't have it!

Kev, look online for a craps app or something similar and learn before you go.

its much more fun to play when you're there and is quite simple one you know the basics.

Right! What Harvey Spectre said is VERY IMPORTANT!

The best bets on a Craps table are the ones with the lowest house edge. The majority of the bets you hear being shouted out at the table are what are known as SUCKER BETS - showy bets with big payoffs, but very low probability of winning (high house edge)

Understand, however, there are no bets on a craps table (or the casino, for that matter) that yeild a winning edge to the player - all crap bets give the edge to the house, from 1% to much, much higher. (unless you are a dice controller, like don TJ). So your best bets are those with the lowest house edge.

The very best and easiest bets to make with a low house edge are; 1) The pass line with odds, 2) come bets with odds, and 3) place bets on the 6 or 8. (Believe me, it's not as complicated as it sounds and if you read the book linked below, you will understand these bets.) The rest of the bets with their large, bright colors and cool names like "yo eleven" "Horn" "Hardway" and "Any Craps," are sucker bets and should be avoided. Sure, they look cool and you'll see lots of gold-spangled dudes tossing chips on the table and telling the dealers where to place their bets. You may even see some of these bets win followed by lots of hooping and howlering and gold chains flashing about, but in the long run they are big-time loosers.

But without a doubt, the craps table is the most fun game in casinos, where you will constantly hear shouts and cheers of joy as the roller wins bets for the whole table.

In summary, get a hard copy (my preference) or download "Craps: Take the Money and Run." (It's an easy and enjoyable read.)

Stick to pass line, come and low house-edge place bets (6 & 8), and

Avoid sucker bets (with large house edge)

Follow these few simple rules and you'll greatly increase your chances to play longer and perhaps even win a few pesos!

And when you get comfortable with this, consider employing the Captain's 5-count method. It will help you avoid betting on lossers (google it!)

                    Good Luck and play smart!

Hi Paulie, I'm down in Grangemouth, nowhere near as scenic as your location!
