Welcome Kev. I'm new to cigars and have been trying to find a balance between reasonably priced regular smokes and better quality more expensive smokes .......however I'm losing!
I'm just smoking more expensive ones more often so will be looking in on your posts to get some tips!

Just curious, Harvey Spectre...what do you (and others) consider a reasonably priced cigar? And what are they?

Ignoring costs from abroad and purely UK prices I'd consider "reasonable" as something in the sub ?10 range but then I do prefer larger ring gauges. Obviously if I have a holiday and can bring home some bargains then that's different.
I've tried a few Dominican and Nicaraguan smokes in the ?7-?10 range but I just don't enjoy them as much as the Cuban RyJ Short Churchills or HdM Epicure no2's. For me I'd rather buy what I like and smoke 1-2 a week than pay less for the NCC's I've tried. That said I'm still looking!
Darn it... my instinctive response to 'whats a reasonable price?' is ...'almost anything priced in Euros!'
I look at boxes of 10 at the 90-120 euro mark. 25's at 225-260 ish euros.
Tend to only try to buy in the UK from our fellow BOTLS here or if I am smoking 'in' somewhere and I see the cost being spread across the stick, a cup of coffee and a comfy chair. I suppose that tends to equate to ?12-20ish.

Welcome aboard Kev, hope you find UKCF as useful i a have!!
Reasonable price is a good question, for me is anything really between ?5 - ?8 as Emaresee mentioned with the UK prices being so high, my UK purchases are normally a box split from other members on the forum which generally are great prices and cigars i wouldn't have thought of trying. I generally buy abroad due to the price really. The way i see it you get much more for your money.
I tend not to buy in the UK as i do find them over priced, however if there is an event or special occasion that could justify the a purchase i would.

I need to get me some cigar buddies!
I do manage to travel into Switzerland, Germany and France with my job so will need to do some digging before my next trip however as my wife is due to give birth in the next 3 weeks I've had to put a hold on my foreign travel for a little while so have had to buy online or from local retailers. The prices (well the taxes) really are painful but then I've been lining the Governments pockets for long enough so I wont let that stop me having some great smokes.

Europe is great for getting a bargain in my short experience of buying cigars.

I'm told Cigarworld in Dusseldorf is worth a visit and Gesto in Geneva, don't know anywhere in France.
